Robotic Nephrectomy and Partial Nephrectomy
Removal of part or the entire kidney (Nephrectomy) is often recommended for treatment of kidney cancer or chronically infected, poorly working kidneys. Traditionally these are removed through large, often painful incisions on the side or overlying the ribs. This required a several day hospital stay and prolonged recovery compared to minimally invasive surgery. Jackson Clinic Urologists are skilled in performing partial or total removal of the kidney utilizing the Da Vinci® surgical robot.

Utilization of the da Vinci® robot offers the following advantages to traditional open kidney surgery:
- Less Blood loss
- Less Pain
- Shorter Hospital Stay
- Fewer complications
- Smaller incisions
