Robotic Nephroureterectomy
Removal of the entire kidney and drainage tube (ureter) is termed Nephroureterectomy and is performed in cases of renal pelvis and ureter cancer . Robotic Nephroureterectomy involves removal of the kidney and ureter using minimally invasive technique assisted by the DaVinci Robot. Traditionally these are removed through large, often painful incisions on the side or overlying the ribs. This required a several day hospital stay and prolonged recovery compared to minimally invasive surgery. Jackson Clinic Urologists are skilled in performing partial or total removal of the kidney utilizing the Da Vinci® surgical robot
