Hearing Testing Options

The following hearing tests are available upon referral from a physician:

Pediatric Hearing Tests

• Newborn Hearing follow-up screens using Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAE)
  • Used to evaluate the integrity of outer hair cell function in the Cochlea. This test has a Pass/Refer criteria.
• Pediatric Diagnostic Hearing Testing
• Tympanometry
  • Assesses function of the middle ear
• Pure Tone Testing
  • Includes speech testing and frequency specific tone testing through headphones or foam inserts
• Speech Recognition Testing
• Speech Reception Threshold Testing
• Soundfield Testing
  • Includes speech testing and frequency specific tone testing through speakers for children who are not ready for headphones
• Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAE)

Follow-up testing for children who do not pass a school or pediatric hearing screen is available.
