Hearing Testing Options
The following hearing tests are available upon referral from a physician:
Pediatric Hearing Tests
- Newborn Hearing follow-up screens using Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAE)
- Used to evaluate the integrity of outer hair cell function in the Cochlea. This test has a Pass/Refer criteria.
- Pediatric Diagnostic Hearing Testing
- Tympanometry
- Assesses function of the middle ear
- Pure Tone Testing
- Includes speech testing and frequency specific tone testing through headphones or foam inserts
- Speech Recognition Testing
- Speech Reception Threshold Testing
- Soundfield Testing
- Includes speech testing and frequency specific tone testing through speakers for children who are not ready for headphones
- Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAE)
Follow-up testing for children who do not pass a school or pediatric hearing screen is available.
